Is this a joke? Fictional? Otherwise, I'd have to say a rootkit was installed and is playing a funny prank on you. It is hard how else to imagine this happening, unless the strings were intentionally altered in the binary - or the screenshot is a fabrication.
I've seen graphical errors like this before (but not this funny). Looks more like there's a hardware issue with the system. Could be a bad hard drive or video card, or maybe the BIOS is hosed.
